Hist. crit. notes:Von Anfang an arbeitete Michael Fliri mit den Medien Performance und Video bzw. Fotografie. „Der Schneemann“ bildet ein repräsentatives, frühes Beispiel: Ausgangsmoment ist eine Aktion des Künstlers, der als Schneemann verkleidet einen leeren Kunstraum betritt und diesen mit „Schnee“ (Styroporgranulat) füllt, bis er letztendlich selbst im Schnee versinkt. Auf dieselbe Weise erschaffen wir im Alltag Situationen, strukturieren Umgebungen und erzeugen Bedeutungen, in die wir einfließen wie der Schneemann in den Schnee.
