Description:Fotographic work in 4 parts, nr. 10 of 15 workgroup "Kunstschnee". Edition 2/4. On the back a label with information about hanging and handwritten with black pen signed: "Walter Niedermayr, Philipp Messner". On photo nr. 3 a transparent envelope with the authenticity certification.
Hist. crit. notes:During winter 2013/14 Philipp Messner has been experimenting in the Dolomites with artificially colored snow, making use of proper snow guns and by adding food coloring to water. Walter Niedermayr was invited to collaborate in this context and so he realized the group of works “Kunstschnee”. These multiple-part works (photographs and lightboxes) show on one hand landscape, snow, trees, on the other hand colored surfaces, overflows and breaches, which open up a hyper surreal level and reaching to the virtual.
The artwork was shown in the exhibition project at ERES Foundation in Munich in 2016 and at Museum of Nature South Tyrol, Bozen in 2017.
