Abstract painting on a white background, which is also covers the frame, above it are handwritten text quotations in graphite by Joseph Zoderer (?), inscribed "JZ" at the end and signed "IR.S.".
Dated in pencil on the back: "VIII. '97".

Sie liegen auf dem Wintergras
zornig mit oder ohne Schlaf
bis zum Asphalt und
dem Beton des Hafens
auch hinter dem
Drahtgitter der Startbahn
ungeduldig oder
zitternd
frie... im nach Fernseh-
endlich teilzu
haben am Unglück
der Schokolade.
Nur nicht ein Leben lang lieben müssen
hinter dem Glas der Wirklich
keit endlich vor der Durchsichtigkeit
der Versprechen endlich erleben
das Nichts
das Endglas der Wünsche.

They lie on the winter grass
angry with or without sleep
to the asphalt and
the concrete of the harbor
even behind the
wire mesh of the runway
impatient or
trembling
free... in the aftermath of television
finally to share in the misfortune
of chocolate.
